CODE oF CONDUCT
Tynedale Beer Festival is all about celebrating great beer, great music, and great company in a safe, welcoming, and community-spirited environment. To make sure everyone enjoys the weekend, we ask all our guests, volunteers, and staff to follow this simple Code of Conduct.
Our Values
Respect – Treat everyone — festival-goers, volunteers, staff, and performers — with courtesy and consideration.
Safety – Look out for one another and follow the guidance of festival stewards and security at all times.
Responsibility – Enjoy yourself, but drink responsibly and know your limits.
Community – Remember that the festival supports local charities and reflects the spirit of Tynedale. Let’s make it something we’re all proud of.
Behaviour
We want everyone to have fun — but not at anyone else’s expense.
Aggressive, abusive, or antisocial behaviour will not be tolerated.
Please follow instructions from security and event staff at all times.
Anyone behaving in a way that causes distress or danger to others may be asked to leave the site without refund.
Respect our volunteers — they give up their time to make this event happen.
Alcohol and Drugs
The festival operates under the Licensing Act 2003. Only alcohol purchased on-site may be consumed within the festival grounds.
Challenge 25 is in operation — please bring valid photo ID if you look under 25.
The use or possession of illegal substances will result in immediate removal from the site and may involve the police.
Please drink responsibly and pace yourself — we want you to remember the good times.
Under 18s and Families
Tynedale Beer Festival is a family-friendly event during the day, but anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Under 18’s are welcome to the festival on Friday and Saturday. Thursday evening is over 18’s only.
Under-18s are not permitted in the bar marquees after 9pm, but are able to stay in the Acoustic marquee opposite the main marquee entrance.
We operate a Challenge 25 policy. If you look under 25 we may ask to see ID at any time.
Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their children at all times.
Smoking and Vaping
Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside marquees or enclosed spaces.
dogs
Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome but are not allowed in the marquees. Please clean up after your pet and use the bins provided. Drinking bowls and fresh water are available around the festival site.
Dogs may not be allowed during evening music sessions for safety reasons — please check the festival’s latest policy before arrival.
Environment and Cleanliness
Please use the recycling and waste bins provided around the site.
Help us keep the festival and the rugby club grounds clean — take your litter with you when you leave.
Accessibility and Inclusion
The festival site is wheelchair accessible, and accessible toilets are provided.
If you need assistance, please speak to any steward or volunteer — we’re happy to help.
Discrimination, harassment, or hate speech of any kind will not be tolerated.
Photography and Media
Official photographers and media may be present during the festival. Attendance implies consent to be photographed or filmed for promotional purposes.
If you prefer not to be photographed, please inform a member of staff.
Safety and Emergencies
In case of an emergency, follow the directions of event staff and security immediately.
The First Aid station/ambulance is in front of the clubhouse and staffed throughout the festival.
Please report any suspicious or unsafe behaviour to security or a steward right away.
Remember Why We’re Here
Tynedale Beer Festival is run entirely by volunteers to raise funds for local charities and good causes. Every pint, every ticket, and every good time helps make a difference. Treat the event, its people, and its surroundings with care so we can keep this North East tradition going for years to come.
