This Unit is one of only two in the UK offering paediatric heart transplants. It now provides almost half of the UK’s paediatric transplants with around 300 small babies and children being operated on each year at the Unit. The CHU is also the only service providing before birth care with seamless transition to adulthood.
The Fund’s aim is to keep the Freeman Hospital at the forefront of children’s cardiac care by raising money for equipment, facilities, aftercare and research for the CHU and Paediatric Intensive Care Unit. More information is available at www.chuf.org.uk.
