Flash House

Victorian Britain was thriving. The ever expanding Empire had brought overseas trade, commerce and culture to the nation, and this new untold wealth had cities flourishing. Descend into the darkest areas of these cities though, and a dangerous and forbidden world of vice and corruption emerged. Hidden deep in the grotesque labyrinthine twist and turns of these dark and dirty alleys, lay the public houses, pubs and inns of the Rookeries, with a disreputable reputation as dens of drinking, betting, debauchery, dancing and sexual assignation. These citadels of vice and crime harbored the thieves and whores, the disgusting and the degenerate, where immoral conversation passed, unlawful schemes were plotted, and the ale flowed into the lawless jungle awash with crooks and convicts.

Welcome to the Flash House.

THE BREWERY

Nestled on a hill overlooking the River Tyne, surrounded by workshops and fishmongers, Flash House Brewery opened the doors to our North Shields home in April 2016.  From our 5bbl Plant, only a stones throw from the revitalised Fish Quay, we brew small batch, expertly crafted world beers in the old heartland of the industrial North East.
