Lions Clubs International is the largest service club organization in the world. Its 1.35 million members in more than 46,000 clubs are serving communities in more than 200 countries and geographical areas around the globe.
This year is Lions Clubs International’s Centennial. Since 1917, Lions clubs have aided the blind and visually impaired, championed youth initiatives and strengthened local communities through hands-on service and humanitarian projects.
Tynedale Lions are a group of men and women, from all walks of life, who freely give of their time to help local charities, good causes and deserving individuals. We raise tens of thousands of pounds every year and help many people in the community, and have fun doing it!
We are a part of Lions International, one of the world’s largest service organisations. While we focus on serving the local community, we also contribute to life-saving national and international projects.
Formed in 1977, the Club has been meeting in the picturesque area of Tynedale in Northumberland, most recently at Tynedale Golf Club on the banks of the River Tyne in Hexham. Meetings commence at 7.45pm on the second and fourth Mondays in the month(except for bank holidays).
You can find Lions Clubs throughout the British Isles and Ireland – we have 17,000 active members belonging to 900 local clubs. Every Lions Club supports a range of projects in its local community – including health and youth initiatives – where you can get involved.
