Wherever your board the train on the Tyne Valley Railway, at Carlisle, Newcastle or any of the stations in between, you are sure to be captivated by the scenery along the route.
It is one of England’s most scenic railways, allowing you to explore Hadrian’s Wall Country, local events and other attractions in the North. It isn’t just there for the scenery, nor just for tourists, vital as they are to our local economy. The Tyne Valley Railway is essential to the communities along its route; serving commuters, students, shoppers, those visiting friends and relations, and those travelling to and from afar.
The Tyne Valley Community Rail Partnership promotes rail travel and local attractions that can be visited from our stations.
Working with the train company, Northern, and the Community Rail Partnership, the Tyne Valley Rail Users’ Group campaigns for improved services on the line.
As the first coast to coast railway to be built in the country, the Tyne Valley Railway provides everyone with the opportunity to explore the history, culture and amenities of the area.
