The Heart of Northumberland is a great, independent free house set within the centre of the historic town of Hexham.
Recently renovated, this historic pub has been given a breath of life after a major refurbishment to get this stunning, Grade II listed, semi-derelict pub back open after being closed for years.
It’s a place to relax, socialise and celebrate with your friends and family and there is something for everyone including the dog.
Food is fit for all occasions and appetites. Emphasis is on locally sourced produce and Northumbrian tradition. Light bites, hearty wholesome pub grub, bar snacks, kids meals and a Sunday roast to rival home!
We use local ingredients as much as possible and prepare everything fresh on site to ensure it is done propa!
Locally sourced sausages and the famous stottie and pease pudding sit alongside classics such as prawn cocktail and fish and chips plus many more hearty delicious meals. Our hand cut chips are renowned already.
Don’t fancy a main meal then we have a range of fantastic bar snacks on rotation to compliment your stay including black pudding scotch eggs, chicken wings and homemade sausage rolls.
Cheeseboards show off some of Northumberland’s finest cheeses, paired with homemade chutneys and biscuits. Or for the sweet toothed we have ‘the best sticky toffee ever tasted‘ plus an array of other yummy puds.
